Today was a rare day off during survey season so I took the opportunity to head up the A90 to the Ythan estuary. My main reason for the visit was to see the tern colony there but a bonus was an osprey that decided to stop by for a while. Unfortunately for the osprey it made the mistake of trying to hunt right next to the tern colony which resulted in it getting mobbed for 20 minutes until it finally relented and gave up.
