The middle of the Cairngorm National Park in June might not be the first place you’d think of to look for migrant warblers. However, a wildlife tour group that were stopping in Laggan the other day to use the public toilets reported an Icterine Warbler () singing in the park next to the toilets. As this is on my route to work, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to drop by this morning and see if the bird was still there. He was and was singing at the top of his voice in the early morning light. If you listen to the video below you will hear all sorts of brilliant mimicry from him too.
