If there was a beauty competition to find the best looking gull in the world, then I think the Heermann’s gull (Larus heermanni) would be in with a fighting chance of winning it. These fantastic looking gulls are easy to identify and are found mainly in the Gulf of California at places like Monterey Bay or Pinos Point.
